A Brief Message from Jerry:
As a husband and father of 4, the owner of a horse farm in Tyrone GA, and an Airline Pilot of 29 years I never thought of myself as a politician. I believe that politics is about bringing people together for one goal– protecting and improving the quality of life of everyone. I believed one could trust our leaders so that we can focus on our families and careers.
As I watched property taxes continue to rise, the quality of life in the region continue to fall, and our basic values of respect, hard work, and devotion seem to be ignored--I found myself changing my mind. That is when I decided it was time to change my path. I have spent years in leadership positions, as an airline pilot people put their lives in my hands every day; and, I know that I can bring what I've learned on being successful in private sector to government.
So I began to look around for where leadership was lacking in government. I continued to come to the name Ronnie Chance. Rather than protecting our children and empowering our businesses, he is squandering our tax dollars and causing our property taxes to go up. A State Senator should know what it is like to get their nails dirty through hard work miles away from political fund-raisers and public relations superficiality. When they know what working families face as they struggle to play by the rules, their votes will reflect that fact. Ronnie Chance's votes against education, transportation, and common sense economic policy speak to his personal agenda. Ignoring what is best for the people to further one's own political career is inexcusable.
We need to be promoting sound economic policy that promotes the entrepreneurial spirit that made us great. We need a transportation policy that does not leave us stuck in traffic and paying for it at the gas-pump. Most of all, we need an education policy that invests in our children and protects their future. We cannot take a chance... two more years of Chance will further undermine our way of life.
That is why I am running for State Senate. In the private sector if you cannot do your job–you get fired. Ronnie Chance might not know what it is like in the real world but I am certain you do. Together we can do what every smart business owner and manager has to do with an employee who does not do their job–we can fire them.
But I cannot do it alone. Taking on the professional politicians takes hard work from everyone in the community. Together we can begin to bring proven leadership to the state capital. Together we can fight to protect our families and empower our economy. Together we can fire Ronnie Chance and bring to the table someone who is not in anyone's pockets and will fight every single day for the hard working families of the 16th district.
Respectfully,
Jerry Brillant
Candidate for State Senate District 16
